You’ll need a few things to properly tag and prepare your items for the sale, so get these before you get started. You can get these anywhere, but we have linked some of our Amazon favorites!

  1. White Cardstock to print tags. (tags print 8 to a sheet) When attaching tags to your items it is important that the tag is secure and will not damage the item when removed. When you are ready to attach your tags you will want to have some or all of the following supplies available, depending on your item categories.
  2. Tagging gun (we highly suggest this over safety pins if you're consigning over 50+ items, or if you are planning on consigning with us year after year! It's going to make your life easier and the whole process much quicker).
  3. Scissors or paper cutter
  4. Clear packing tape
  5. Scotch tape
  6. Painters Tape (best used on books or toys that have paper or printed cardboard covers so that the buyer doesn't damage the item when removing the tag. Please be sure tape doesn't cover the tag barcode.
  7. Magic Eraser (great for removing scuffs on leather sneakers, and for light marks on plastic gear or toys)
  8. Lint roller/brush
  9. Safety Pins (needed if you are not using a tagging gun to secure tags to fabric items or to bundle items together)
  10. Zip Lock bags (whatever size you anticipate using; however, we find the gallon sized to be the most commonly used for items like socks, smaller toys, accessories, etc.)
  11. Zip Ties (zip ties work very well for attaching shoes together. We find that when shoes are bagged, shoppers cannot see them as well and therefore, they don't sell as well. These also work great for attaching a zip lock to an item if there are several pieces)
  12. Hole Puncher (gives you a nice, neat hole in your tag).
  13. Rubber bands/ribbon/twine (use these to bundle a stack of books together).
  14. Cling wrap or press 'n seal wrap (great for holding puzzle pieces into a wooden puzzle)

These items should all be clean and function properly.

  • Mamaroo Swings: Mamaroo baby swings are accepted provided they have been repaired with the strap-fastener recall kit as detailed in the recall information here.
  • Potty seats that are THOROUGHLY cleaned and sanitized with no cracks, gouges, stains, or odors may be accepted.
  • Car Seats - Used: Must be less than 5 years old and have the date clearly stamped on it.  Consignor also must print and fill out a Car Seat Checklist form and bring it to drop off.  Car seats must not be expired.

Books: Children’s, Maternity, Chapter books for young readers, and Adult hardcover and paperback books are welcome. Books should be in good condition, free of writing and torn pages.  Partially completed activity/sticker and coloring books are not accepted. Please do not put packing tape on the cover of the book when tagging!  Use the motion picture movie ratings as a guide for our Books Accepted --> Rated G: General audiences

Clothing New and Gently Used: We accept Preemie to adult size, boys/girls, men/women.  Clothing must be WASHED, clean and free of any stains, holes, or odors. All zippers and snaps must function properly.

  • Maternity: We will accept Maternity clothing at all of our sales.  These items should be subject to the same wear/tear inspection process as other categories.
  • All regular jeans and pants (the heavier, fleece lined would be for fall/winter), jogging/sports pants, short and long sleeved shirts, long and short sleeve infant onesies and undershirts, and long and short sleeve pajamas.

CDS, DVDs and Video Games: Rated G and PG are welcome at our sale.

Furniture: Toddler beds, cribs, crib sized mattresses, changing tables, rocking chairs, small seats, pack n plays, etc. are all accepted. Furniture must not show signs of excessive wear.

Battery operated toys must include working batteries, functional battery covers, and applicable chargers. All indoor/outdoor climbing/play toys, play kitchens, play workbenches, large playhouses, bikes, slides, wagons, doll houses, and play sets should be clean with no cracks or broken pieces.

entering ITEMS into the tagging system

Make sure you have your consignor number handy. If you still need an account, read through our consignor information on how to get a consignor number and register for an event location.

  1. Log into your SELLER PORTAL: myconsignmentmanager.com/replaypopupconsignment
  2. Click the top Event Navigation
  3. drop down and select Manage Items  or select the left bottom block with a tag MANAGE ITEMS
  4. Select the ADD button
  5. Select a Category
  6. Select a Size
  7. Enter a Description
  8. Enter a Price
  9. Check if the item should be Discounted
  10. Check if the item should be Donated
  11. Click Submit

Category: It is important to select the correct category for your item so that sales tax can be applied, if applicable. Category-Size-Description. Sizing: Make sure the size on the tag matches the item size. If you still have questions about sizing, feel free to ask for advice from our REPLAY Consignors Only group on Facebook. Description: This should be as descriptive as possible. The appropriate size should be in the sizing field, but supplemental sizing such as Slim or Plus can be added to the description. This is also a great place to add "new with tags" or "2 piece set" etc. Please don’t just describe as - shoes, pants, shirt - add a color or other descriptive wording. This field is used by us to pair lost tags with items should they become separated so help us help you and be as descriptive as possible.

TAG QUALITY

Pay special attention to the printed tags. The print quality of the barcode is critical for making sure your item is properly credited to you during the sale. High quality tags speed up the checkout process and help keep our line moving. You will be asked to re-tag any items with poor quality tags during drop off.

***Note*** If using a colored printer, be sure to set the options for black & white printing! This is important because although you may not be able to see color on the tag, it is there and will not scan.

PRINTING TAGS

Once you have all your items entered into the seller portal, it’s time to print! When printing, please use heavy card stock. Anything 28 pounds or greater should work. Tags print 8 to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.  Tags should be printed on white or light-colored card stock paper; tags printed on dark colored paper often will not scan so will not be accepted. Finally, do not modify your tags by hand. If you need to make changes to a tag, please make the change in seller portal and reprint the tag. Hand modified tags can create a lot of confusion at checkout; therefore, they will not be accepted at the sale.

To print your tags:

  1. Log into your SELLER PORTAL: myconsignmentmanager.com/replaypopupconsignment
  2. Navigate to the Manage Items section (see above)
  3. In the PRINTED Column - first time select ALL, after your first print you will select Not Printed
  4. Click on the BLUE ARROWS on the left to refresh your page
  5. Then select the top box, which will select all not printed tags
  6. Proceed to the Grey PRINT button.
  7. Use your web browser’s print function to print preview your tags.
  8. If tags are cut off in print preview: reduce the page margins in you browser’s print settings.
  9. Print a single test page to ensure the print quality is good.
  10. Make any adjustments, then print the rest of your tags!
  11. See SAMPLE TAG .

TOP SELLING ITEMS TO TAG FIRST

  • Focus on the large items first that will bring the biggest return and are always in highest demand at our sale. These include: strollers, high chairs, booster seats, pack ‘n play®, bassinets, car seats, bouncy seats, activity seats, walkers, bath tubs, potty seats, gates, bed rails, glider rockers, changing tables, nursery furniture, cribs and toddler beds
  • Outside items like playhouses, basketball hoops, bicycles, ride-on toys, baby swing seats and small play sets (please include assembly instructions and a picture of the complete playset if setting it up is not feasible)
  • Clean and well-cared for toys also sell very well at our sales, including: infant light-up toys, play sets that include figurines, electronic toys, Lego sets, play kitchens and work benches
  • While pulling all of your items together it is a good idea to match up clothing sets as well as bundle smaller items (like socks, books or videos) before you begin entering your items in the online inventory. This helps to ensure tag descriptions are as accurate as possible.
  • Accurate tag descriptions include the correct size, brand name and color. This helps both our shoppers know what they are buying, and our volunteers to locate your item in the event your tag becomes separated. Please remember, clothing items hung together on a hanger or in a baggie MUST BE OF THE SAME SIZE.

TAGGING ITEMS

Tagging is the process of entering the items you want to sell into our tagging system, printing out the tags on card-stock paper, and attaching them to your consignment items. It is important that your online inventory is accurate and your printed tags are well secured.

In addition to selling your items, tagging your items allows you to:

  • Print inventory sheets for all of your items
  • Print a donation list for your tax filings
  • Transfer your unsold items to a future sale with us, if you chose to participate again
  • View which items sold at the sale prior to receiving your check
  • Calculate your potential sales
  • Receive your check within two weeks after the sale has ended

If you're registered to consign, make sure you're in our REPLAY Consignors Only group on Facebook! This group is a fantastic resource for additional tagging tips and a wonderful community for asking questions. Follow closely during the sale week for information, announcements and reminders.

hanging ITEMS and tag placement

 Clothing and hanging items:

Please see the photo clips below for proper hanging and tag placement. This ensures all items are facing the correct way when hung and makes it easier for shoppers to look through items with the fronts facing them.

  • Secure clothing to hangers with safety pins. DO NOT USE STRAIGHT PINS OR CLOTHESPINS!
  • Pin the tag on a visible seam, under the arm or at the neck tag, with the right side of the clothing, facing out so it’s easy for shoppers to see. . See the diagrams for examples.  Pins will make holes in clothing be very careful when pinning tags.
  • Your secured items should be able to withstand a fall to the floor without coming off the hanger
  • Please close all zippers, buttons, and snaps, and tie the sashes on dresses so that your items look as nice as possible. No one loves to iron but sometimes a little touch-up here and there can go a long way. Just remember, the nicer they look, the faster they sell!
  • Hang a two-piece outfit with the shirt on a hanger, pinning the skirt/pants on with two large safety pins at the shoulder seams. Or, hang each item on separate hangers and attach the hangers together with a rubber band, zip tie, or string.
  • Bundle multiple items on hangers together with rubber bands, zip tie, or string.
  • Take care not to obscure any of the tag information, especially the barcode.
  • If you're hanging pants and two-piece outfits, wire hangers are the easiest to get the safety pins around. See the pant hanging tip below.
  • If you have special occasion clothing or any garment that might be damaged by a safety pin (leather, suede, some raincoats, fragile and delicate fabrics etc.) then the tag needs to be attached differently. If it's outerwear, or if it has a zipper pull with a hole in the end, then you can pin the tag or zip tie it onto the zipper pull. If it has a label in the neck, you can pin the tag to that. For everything else, or if you're unsure, bring the item and tag with you to the drop-off and we'll help you safely attach it.

Smoke-Free Requirement: If your items are coming from a home where someone smokes, everything MUST be freshly laundered immediately prior to drop-off.

Tagging Toys & Equipment:

  • Toys: All toys must be clean – even if they're outside toys! Most plush/fabric items, (stuffed animals, rag dolls, baby toys, Barbie clothes etc.) can be washed in the washing machine, gentle cycle, either in a pillowcase or mesh laundry bag. Check tags for manufacturers instructions. Battery operated plush items can be 'sponge bathed' using a damp rag. Depending on the item, you can attach the tag with a safety pin, zip-tie, or tape.
  • Large Infant Equipment: PA state law requires us to spray any item with fiber fill that a child may have slept on. Disinfecting Policy. This includes pack ‘n plays, high chairs, Jumperoos, bouncy seats, and strollers. It is important to use safety pins (not tape!) on these items to ensure the tag does not fall off during spraying. Please pin the tag on the headrest or seat of these items. Pack ‘n Plays should have the tag pinned on the outside of the short rail.
  • Large  Items: Large items that are too big to carry around the sale should have a yellow large ticket tag.  See sample tag picture. Please print your regular item tag and bring it with you at your scheduled drop of time. See one of the volunteer workers to assist you in tagging your large items.
  • Small Items: Small items and groups of items should be bagged in clear zip-top bags and sealed with packaging tape, tape the daylights out of the bag opening so that no little hands get in. Tape or pin the tag to the bag.

Tagging Shoes: Shoes must be clean and in great to like-new condition! Tie laces or zip tie shoes together.  Shoes in zip-top bags sealed with packaging tape should be a last resort. Shoppers want to examine the shoes. Pin the tag through the shoelaces or attach it with string or ribbon. Do not display shoes in a box without attaching them together; they will become separated.

Tagging Books, CDs, and DVDs: Use string to tie bundles together when possible or put in zipper bags to secure and tape tag to the bag. Please keep from taping the tags on the cover; this damages the books when tape is removed, if you must, painter's tape works great for individual items or bundles not in bags. It stays on securely, but won't damage the surface when removed. Always double check the contents of  CD and DVD cases!

Tagging Puzzles and Boxed Games: Bag all loose pieces, secure the bag shut and place them in the box. Tape the box closed in four places with painters tape. If a Team Member needs to inspects your items to see if all the pieces are there - loose pieces are hard to contain when the box is open.Always double check the contents of puzzles and boxed games.
